![]() I decided to try to start it up again, and it did start and sounded ok, so I slowly drove it on home. I turned off the ignition and just sat there, stunned, for a few minutes. The vdc off and slip lights and the check engine soon lights came on. Managed to manually steer the car off the road into a parking lot. Yesterday, July 9, 2012, hile driving under normal conditions on a main city street the engine on my 2004 Infiniti G35 just stopped running. This is not your normal item subject to wear and tear, it needs to be investigated further. This is not a normal part that a person could have maintained to have in a working condition, it is subject to failure at any given time based on what I have been told. ![]() I don't believe the part should have failed considering the minimal amount of mileage on the vehicle at the time. If in a remote area a person could easily freeze to death without being able to start the vehicle. I see this a a major safety issue considering a person(s) could be stranded in any weather conditions if the ignition did not allow them to start the vehicle. As a safety issue I asked Infiniti USA to look into the matter and they pretty much gave me the "brush-off" without any explanation. Vehicle was repaired by an Infiniti dealer who could not explain what was wrong with the ignition key or assembly, or why the part failed. The ignition key, at times, would not rotate so as to allow the driver to start the vehicle. Vehicle identification number (VIN): JNRAR07Y8X_. This issue happened on Wednesday, March 25, 2009.Īll Ignition problems of Dodge Grand Caravan. They will not do anything, my van only has 70,000 miles on it. In 2010 and they said they were sorry I was unhappy with my van, but there wasn't anything they could do. Ok I know you say why didn't I contact you or someone before now. I think since the company sold me a bad van in the beginning that they should help me get into a vehicle I could afford to replace this one. The recalls I don't have all of them, but you have that list. This is just the things that I have receipts for. The company should have know that old keys, the type I have, would not program to a new ignition. They ordered and repaired the ignition, then my keys would not program to the new ignition, so I had to wait, paying for the rental another 3 days for them to order new keys, at my expense. Lee Chrysler doesn't have cars to loan, I had to rent one at my expense. In July 2013 the ignition stopped working and I had to have it replaced. Since these items were under warranty in 2008, the first time they were replaced, I think it was the dealerships place to tell me that this work had been done. I found this out when I had to replace the brakes October 2011 and the starter in the spring of 2012. When I purchased the van the previous owners had already replaced the brakes and starter. I have all the documentation, as to when all the work was done and what. From that time on, every few months there was another problem. After several trips to the dealership that problem was resolved. A week or two, maybe less my husband and I had problems with the keyless entry keys not opening the van. It was a one owner with some warranty left on it. I purchased my van in March of 2009 from lee Chrysler. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is 2D8HN54P08_. The car involved was a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan.
